Coconut Gardens is nestled in acres of coconut groves near the centre of Gili Trawangan island and is an ideal hideaway for those looking for a more tranquil and private holiday......
The resort is removed from the hustle and bustle of island life but is just 800 metres away from the main hub of shops, restaurants and bars on the East coast.
The sunset side of the island is just 500 metres to the West, where a wide variety of more relaxing places can be found to unwind and take in the glorious sunset.
With beautiful, traditional buildings combined with modern amenities we aim to provide the best of both worlds.
Coconut Gardens is perfect place to hide away or as a base to explore the island and discover the wide range of activities available on Gili Trawangan.
ACCOMMODATION
Part of our philosophy is to be an eco-friendly resort and our choice of building materials reflects that. The teak timberwork has been ethically re-claimed, imported and re-worked. The wood is generally between 40 and 60 years old and retains many of the traditional carvings and original markings from the material's previous use.
Each of the bungalows in Coconut Gardens has been crafted in keepng with traditional Javanese archictecture. The design of the bungalows is known as a 'Gladak', which typically means the structure is based on 4 interlocking beams from which the walls rise.
The roof reaches high up in the central part of the spacious double bedroom which creates an airy environment.
The fusion of elegant 21st Century simplicity for the interior design, mixed with the traditional exterior makes for an interesting and chilled space to relax and slumber.

Surroundings & Facilities
The garden is an evolving and ongoing project, lovingly tended by our resident horticulturalist. Our vision is to create a small Eden, lush with tropical trees, aromatic flowers, native plants and guests being served freshly picked fruit from own garden.
The frame of the reception and restaurant building was rejuvenated from an abandonment in Java. The name of this design is 'Jogolo', traditionally the dwelling of a village elder.
